it would have been so awesome if they had managed to get david, but it was so unlikely that i never even considered the idea. he’s doing other things now, and tbh he actually has nothing to do with the show anymore. doctor who is always changing. that’s the whole point. david’s moved on, and so will matt when he’s finished~
